kebbi State

The state is located in the North West Geo-Political Zone of the country. It was created out of Sokoto State. The state capital is Birnin Kebbi. Major towns in the state include Argungu and Yelwa. The state is known for its famous annual Argungu fishing festival which is celebrated with a lot of pomp and pageantry. Mineral resources found in the state include limestone, salt, clay and gypsum. This is the Land of Equity. In the 2006 Population and Housing Census, Kebbi state is made up of 1,631,629 males and 1,624,912 females
